I’m a reader, gamer, indoor soccer player, animal lover, and someone who always seems to pick up another hobby.

I’ve always been the kind of person who gets really into something for a while, then suddenly finds a new thing to obsess over. Books, games, random crafts, travel, puzzles, learning piano, trying to figure out cross stitch, it all rotates through eventually.

Nookish Notions is where I put all of that.

Why I Started Nookish Notions

I created Nookish Notions because I wanted one place where I could share all of the things I enjoy without forcing myself into one specific niche.

I wanted somewhere to talk about books, movies, shows, games, hobbies, wellness, and the random little things that come with everyday life. More than that, I wanted to create a positive community for people who love discovering new things and sharing what they’re excited about.

The name Nookish Notions came from the idea that there is a nook for everything. Some interests fit neatly onto a shelf, while others need a little more room. Either way, they deserve a place of their own.

A Little More About Me

I live in Central Texas with my husband, our dog, and our kitten.

When I’m not working, I’m usually reading, playing indoor soccer, hanging out with my husband and our animals, working on some random hobby, or planning another trip I absolutely do not need.

When I was 21, I studied British literature in England and Scotland before solo traveling to Germany. It is still one of my favorite things I have ever done and probably explains at least part of my love for books, travel, and trying new experiences.

My ideal cozy day is much simpler: reading in a hammock in the backyard with my dog beside me and a coffee or smoothie within reach.

I hope Nookish Notions becomes a place where we can talk about the things we love and discover new favorites.
